I did mainly watering yesterday but managed a bit of weeding. It's amazing how the weeds are able to hide away and then suddenly poke up through everything else and are a few feet high

                Hmmm...
Best laid plans of mice and men - and Welsh women!
I came back just after midday to see little activity around the wasp's nest. Upon investigation, I discovered that they had made three new entrances, and were slipping in and out of those. I can see this will be a war of attrition!
I know that my actions are in effect killing an extended, and very large!!, family. But the only other option involves also killing all the other neighbours around their underground home...

Sowed a few wallflower seeds into empty toilet rolls and put them in the garage where it's cooler.
I put a few seeds in each, when they come up i can thin them out to one each. That saves me time and it doesn't damage the seedlings.

Are they combining or swathing before they combine?

                        "Scorchio!"

Opened the tea-house door around 7.45am. It'd be over 90F in there by lunchtime and my Budweiser fridge would be struggling if I didn't.
Mist sprayed our acers after getting home from golf at around 2.00pm.
Put the lawn sprinklers on for half an hour.

I'll water the "cooking pots" on the patio later.

It's s'pposed to be like this for the next ten days.

Roasting here too DHR :SUNsmile::SUNsmile:. Despite refreshing sea breeze it is very hot. Not complaining; this is what summer is all about and, yes, the days ahead are expected to be even hotter.
Staked the rest of the heleniums and dahlias...most of them are well over 5'.
Watered where sun has gone and will water again in a couple of hours.
