It wasn't always this way Gail...Last year I made a concerted effort to put the moss and weed ridden quagmire to rights...took a lot of work but I think its paying off.....After all grass is a plant too.

Well lets just say that it's done the job and how you cut your lawn looks nice with the lines but your doing your edging how I used to do our back :snorky:...it's all gravelled now after my dog recked the lawn

Geewhiz It’s hot. First job cancelled, went off to do a lawn, thought why. Back home, aircon on and feet up.
Got the bill for my outboard that been fixed after someone tried to pinch it off the boat, a nice £372 bill plus £34 for a new fuel cap which they pinched. Picking up next Monday and then off up the river for the day.

It’s great on the Thames, boat traffic has gone right down in numbers and the banks with reed beds are all returning.
Just need to find a spot in the shade where Rosie can chill out while I Pin a float down the river D0E95AC9-D171-4D43-96AD-37A51D976FE2.jpeg :)

                      Idyllic innit?

Our daughter and family are members of a rowing club between Staines and Windsor, near where they live.
As well as conventional racing boats, they have several of these vintage skiffs. Though they race these too. They can be surprisingly fast.

Great to be out there occasionally on a nice afternoon, when we visit them.
Hard work rowing back sometimes against the tide.

I did a couple of hours edging and weeding just after sunrise and it was nice and cool. Before lunch I did some more edging and weeding but only about an hour. Then an hour of watering the greenhouse and pots. Late afternoon I worked in the shade removing bindweed, thistles, buttercups and dandelions. Then another hour of watering.

In between all this the sprinkler was being moved around the garden.

I guess I'll be back out there about 4.30 a.m.
