I really love the oriental garden idea. I tried something once. I was just sitting here wondering where in my current garden I could put something like that.

                    20180330_135618.jpg
This is still a dead area. My plan was to lay a decking and have a safe place for the grandchildren to play. I was going to pit in a blackboard a sand pit and a table and chairs. Partly to keep them amused while they are and here and partly to keep them off the bits of my garden that aren't yet people friendly.

If I worked on the principle that by the time I completed this project the children will be too old to use it (although I would have made it adult friendly too) then I could rethink the idea and maybe incorporate the oriental theme. I could add a bench and a water feature etc.

                    Hmm.

                    G.

Ok without going into a huge amount of text details here we go @Jack Sparrow ...pictorial version, I'm sure you'll get the drift....obviously it has evolved over the years but the original concept has remained the same. Any specific questions then dont hesitate to ask.

Check the insides for anything that will snag the liner...mine had been vulcanised repairs and had to remove them after all it was a used tyre.

I even made my own rockwork copings for the perimeter from concrete mix form random shapes then scrunch up a plastic bag and dab over the surface to give it some texture

I love the sunken pond effect. It's a nice feature and I would imagine it's child friendly. We have animals running around and occasionally boisterous children. What are the plants in the pond?
