I use epsom salts BigC....like you on toms, etc and on plants showing signs of magnesium deficiency, like lupins :)
I know Tetters uses it as a weedkiller.....
As a lawn fertiliser I have used it but not sure if it was successful or not. I prefer to boost my lawn with prepacked soluble or liquid food vailable very cheaply.

Heres a little link to help.

Lawn Fertiliser | Turf Fertiliser | Pitchcare Shop

While it’s great to add magnesium its best used with a combination of requirements for turf and there are fertilisers that contain mg so it’s not a product I would use on it’s own.

        Hot out there today!

I did as much as I could first thing...
        -washing out on the line
-fuchsias and roses deadheaded (ballerina looks so much better, now that the dead rosettes have been removed!)
-trug full of geranium trimmings, dead spring bulb leaves, dead hedge-trimmings, and spent daylillies removed from the church gardens
-forementioned trug emptied on compost heap
        -black currants picked

Time for a cuppa, then it will be potting on the chillies and pot-grown herbs, if I can find a patch of shade.
I was hoping to take some photos of the dragonflies on the pond in defence of our request for exemption from being connected to the sewage system, but might be too hot up there this afternoon!

Back now to assess the garden. Grasses are loving the dry hot weather :).
It is very, very hot.....walled garden, albeit not far from the sea, has raised temp even more. The odd astrantia is showing signs of wilting so the use of the hose will be needed later but most everything else is ok.
the forecast suggested poss rain on Sunday night but that's all. Could be in for a lengthy dry spell :noidea::)

Hiya Gail.....carex (elata aurea) likes it cool and moist but its a tough cookie. The odd splash of water would do it good. :)

Just back from Queens University Belfast Graduation & Garden Party (My son in attendance to pick up his degree)..Blistering hot...killer weather....I'm now planning the input/output pond pump and electrics placements for the waterfall...I cant decide to have a hidden straight pipe feeding it or make a Bamboo Spout...such is my dilemma in this scorching weather we're having lately..

Our weather forecast had rain Sunday and Monday and now that’s changed. Ground is baked and hard.
Went to a customers last week who has a massive oak tree in the middle of the lawn and it’s nice and green still but the maintenance lads that do the contract work on this private setting have kept mowing their grass verges and they are all but gone. They just keep cutting it for some strange reason. Got a feeling they did not add enough to their contract so have to turn up to get paid.
I think it’s my last week of full grass cutting all be it on a limited amount, it’s that bad I’m watching the World Cup lol.

I bought myself a cheap sprinkler. So far it is doing what it's supposed to do. I'm not sure how long I should leave it running. I don't want a mud bath. It doesn't cover a very big area. I'm going to have to move it a dozen times to Dover the entire lawn. I can't see me doing that.

Is it possible (or practical) to buy a pipe splitter and run 2 sprinklers at once?

Anything is possible @Jack Sparrow lol but to be brutally honest that sprinkler should come under the trades description act lol
invest in a better one maybe or you may need a 6 way splitter lol...just sayin

It is but it doesn't look like you have much water pressure there looking at the picture ?.
