I agree @ARMANDII that there should be no regulations regarding how we interpret our conditions. I also think it would be fun to add local sayings....

Coulda fried an egg on the sidewalk today .. :)

My car is parked in the shade, north facing and lots of lovely trees. It's not the hideous oven of a car that some people have to get into
I love seeing how the temps rise as I get out and about :snorky:
When my eldest son was little, I remember feeling the child car seat (black :wallbanging: ) it was dangerously hot :mute:

I can see you now, everyday, sitting down and working out the average of around 5 thermometers, Sheal:heehee: As I said it's a matter of personal choice. My Weather Station gives me temperature, humidity, wind direction, average wind speed, wind gust speed, rainfall measurements, storm threshold warnings, solar rad units, graph displays for different subjects, current weather readings, and all that Jazz:heehee: I use it for Astronomy mainly but it's good for giving you a trend in the weather.
I don't think how we do it is something to fret about, when it's hot it's hot, when it's cold it's cold, ...............you know what I mean:dunno::heehee:

We have four distinct temperature/weather zones in our garden so I usually quote the temperature in our 'main' garden. That's where the weather station is and it's in permanent shade under the porch of the summerhouse. It's not affected by the temperature inside the summerhouse (which can get quite hot when it's closed up) as the wall is wood cladding, then 6" of insulation, then Essex boarding and then plastered (the wall, not me!).

As that part of the garden is quite sheltered it has a hotter microclimate than the rest of the garden. The back of the garden is open to the fields so is cooler when there's a breeze - but from mid morning is in full sun and can be too hot to work in at times like this but too cold in the depths of winter.

In between those two is an area that is completely in shade with trees all around and is quite cool even in this hot weather and lovely when the breeze is blowing through it.

The front garden is north facing and can be very cool/cold in winter but hot in this kind of weather as there's little shade.

The weather forecast rarely matches any of those micro climates :noidea:
