    Hi this is a pals plant,

    1 what is it

    2 how and when to prune it

    3 whats eating away at it, its making the leaves snap and fall limp, best way to deal with the pest please.

    Cordyline australis, you dont prune it, other than remove dead leaves.
    I dont think anything is attacking it as such, just physical damage caused by the wind or more likely humans or animals.

      Reading up and knowing my pal doesn't protect it, it will be frost damage thanks again Pete.

      Wet and cold weather in winter, and drought and heat stress in summer, can lead to poor growth, yellowing and browning of the foliage or excess leaf drop. Improve the growing conditions and provide winter protection.
