Hi @Loki , I've got mine in trays under a fence. What I've done is put 5 trays together with the plant labels in the corners and then run two lengths of cling film over them and tucked under them so they're totally enclosed in " mini greenhouses ". They're in the shade and so shouldn't need watering again untill they're through and I take the cover off.

I don't blame you mate...it's the first time this year I didn't feel like watering and it takes something to really stop me doing a certain thing but looking at my plants drove me to doing them :phew: been in shade all day and it's no better in the home plus @Logan as took me :fan: from me :censored:

PS... For small amounts I use 3" pots and enclose them in food bags.

:snorky: that's my regular way of sowing seed. I go through a ridiculous amount of food bags :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Took a wheel barrow load of plants round to mum and planted up two trough this morning and plant the odd other plant. Back home and fed the tomatoes cucumbers and all the pots. Finally got round to writing out the strawberry / raspberry black plastic labels.

Had to go round and water a few plants in the garden which were wilting, still no rain forecast. I am normally very critical of how much it rains but I could probably count on one hand how many times it rained since late April. Some plants are enjoying the hot / dry weather but others not so much, the campanula pritchards variety has flowers half the size they normally are.

This dry weather is affecting lots of plants @Perki
I fear some will not survive, it's like the reverse of the beast from the east.
The plants we are used to enjoying are struggling, within months they've had snow and cold now they are out there in the intense heat..... :wow:
I'm glad I'm not planted in my border :heehee:

"Cloudy and raining" means cloud above and rain below...:noidea:....a rare sight lately but it has been splendid. I have a feeling it was just parts of Cornwall that were so blessed. :yay:Garden watered gently and then, before lunch, the sun came out to preface a scorching afternoon. The garden washed, the pollen cleared and then all dried up by the sun...isnt nature wonderful? :)

By late afternoon I had cut the lawns, planted some white sunpatiens, dug up Wargrave Pink geranium, divided it and potted 3 large clumps. They will be replanted elsewhere in autumn. Pruned a philadelphus too......the scent is enough for me to keep it (scent only for June and early July) but it is not a spectacular shrub otherwise. Time to consider something else in its place.

Watered plants using miracle grow hose end adapter but not sure I like it.:noidea:

Oh! And I cut back a huge swathe of Cannington Roy osteospermum that separates part of the driveway between neighbour and I. It will reflower in a matter of 2 or 3 weeks. Neighbour pleased but did not respond with a lager as his beautiful and understanding wife does!:noidea:

It could be worse Loki....... Imagine if we planted @Gail_68 in the garden and we ended up with 6 or 7 of her :roflol:

Finished painting boat seat. The blue is actually brighter than it appears in pic. The original wooden seat broke as quite rotted. Not going to replace, will put a freestanding chair in there.

On my way back to the house I came across this gorgeous little creature. A friend said it might be above ground looking for food as soil so dry . I've only been watering the planted areas with flowers not the grassy areas.
