I was back out in the garden weeding at 5.30 a.m., have had a half hour break and shall get back out there before it gets too hot. Still moving the sprinkler around the garden to where plants are showing they're unhappy. The Veronicastrums have perked up now. :blue thumb:

We have all the water we need its just the distribution network that is failing so my reasoning is if I water late late at night or in the wee small hours then I wont be a burden on their system as most folks are knocking out Zzzzzzzz's at that time...I like to do my bit hahahahahahaha

Shiney, I have noticed that veronicastrums seem to be among the first to droop - they seem even thirstier than hydrangeas. Do you think they would do well growing in water?

Really? I have not seen a ''fogger'' in action - how does that work then (mind you, I`m a bit past night-time mystique) upload_2018-7-2_7-33-18.jpeg

You're actually being a good Samaritan. If people didn't use the system the pumps may seize up and there would be considerable problems.

Only if you glanced through the window at the garden at least three times during that arduous procedure @wiseowl .......or if the washing line is out there. :snorky:

                          Morning everybody :)

Sea is warming up and the heat is building once again towards a scorcher . The heatwave is set for another week, at least

Re veronicastrums.....yes, they do like plenty of water; here they are planted in well enriched soil and mulched. Not sure they will grow in water, unless anyone knows differently :)

WO....I am shocked:gaah:. That is housework and doesnt count. So, you've done nothing then:snorky:

He may have hung them out to air and could have emptied the hoover into the garden (the fluff is good for the birds for nest making and it's also good on the compost heap). He may even have done the ironing out in the garden.

It all fits in with the title. :blue thumb::heehee:

                                I've had an achieving morning....

Over the last few years, the view across the valley has slowly been disappearing, as Hazel and chokeberry grow around and above the compost bays. Well, today, I'd had enough!

I've taken out some coppice-stems of Hazel, and taken out a 20' chokeberry tree. Yay!! I can see across the valley from the sofa again! I think I've got one more stem of Hazel to come out, to make it look tidy - not blocking the view now, but it would mean that the treeline "edge" will be the more delicate chokeberry branches, rather than the clumsier Hazel. Just got to make up some "faggot" bundles and take them all the way up the garden to the roadside ready for collection tomorrow. Then I think it's time for a cuppa, and taking a photo to show off the newly restored view!
