    Indeed!

Because of the detail, and logic behind the recipe, I'm thinking of a variation - a redcurrant sponge, with a little almond in the sponge mix...

IMG_4046.JPG Thalictrum Splendide White....first year. A red helenium contrasts well with it but my camera skills have not shown this alas!

Today, we have been restoring some order after months of neglect which allowed the weeds to take over, and also clearing out our blue planters in readiness for some new compost and the herbs that will hopefully be using some of them as home....

It felt so good to be outside, clearing up, and getting my hands dirty.

I think it is as plain as the nose on the face that this thread should be a serious one about what has been achieved in the garden and not a frivolous hanky panky session Shiners, and, what is more I think we are doomed to stand in the naughty corner for a while to contemplate the error of our ways and return to the thread as competent and serious gardening people who know how to act their age [IMG]

It certainly is @Verdun - and having to bend down (safely seatbelted into my wheelchair) to pull weeds out and pick stuff up is good physio too :)

The photo posted is the view from my sofa - I look to my right, and can see outside and watch the birds and squirrels - nice to have the big opening letting loads of light and air in.

It improves a little each day, albeit slowly. I am counting my blessings though, as I am alive, have made it home, and am lucky enough to have a load of friendship and support from the very best people you could choose to meet.

Elin will need support if left isolated but plant it surrounded by shrubs or sturdy perennials and it will look natural and stand well. Splendide White is self supporting Logan :)
Supplier rang me earlier to say 2 thalictrums on order will be posted on Mon and delivered on Tues:)

Our Thalictrum Elin needs support even when surrounded by other shrubs. Most of it stands tall and proud but a few stems tend to need tying in. It still hasn't opened its flowers yet.

Once again yesterday was early morning weeding and I then did a third stint of it between 9 - 10 a.m. and got my arms burned! I've rubbed cream in, am keeping my arms covered and it feels OK now.

Worked from 4.30 - 5.30 a.m. this morning and shall go back out there at 6 a.m. All gardening apart from watering will be finished before 9 a.m.
