I am considering finishing the whole lawn off and reseeding it :dunno:, I've wanted to redo the lawn for years but can't be bothered with the hassle of rotavating and the time doing it.

My grass is a mouthwatering vision of loveliness in a gorgeous tweedy brown/green hue. It is of course the ''in trend'' and has the extra little seed head popping up here and there, with an exciting touch of dandelion showing a golden haze in the best patches..... :wub2: just wonderful!

Honestly @Perki from experience...your lawn is a whole lot better than mine was when I started the renovation job...I just used the old methods and tools...I cut the lawn used 4 in 1 and waited...new seed wont grow in 4 in 1...kept watering....then I scarified with a long tined rake and I raked it and I raked it and got all the crap out...it was looking pretty bare...Then I opened it up a little using the hand holer....and really aerated the soil...after six weeks I broadcasted compost and sand mix over the whole lawn and sowed the seed...I'm really happy with it now I use 4 in 1 twice a year and I feed it Miracle Gro soluble lawn feed every 2 weeks...its lush
Give it a go before you take the drastic measures you may be surprised

PS...I only cut this with a small Qualcast Panther 30 hand mower...anything else I find too harsh. It is a plant also so dont forget to give it a drink daily

I planted 6 begonias bulbs in the spring and this is the only that has come up. I have 2 more that are in leaf but nowhere near as strong as this one. Next year I will only try again if I have a greenhouse. Otherwise I'll try something different.

                          Hi Jack,

The best way to start Begonia corms off is to lay them ( hollow/dented side upwards ) on top of a tray of compost or shallow pots. When they have produced shoots about 1/2 to an inch long then you pot them up individually into 3" pots, this time burying the tuber about an inch deep.
