They did OK, but we still seem to lack anyone that can score goals, they seem to lack the finish.
The first goal was good, but from a set piece.

 

So @misterQ , you feel no pride at all in England havong got this far.

They are a fledgling team , many of whom had never played together before this tournament.

Well we have tried experienced squads and they have not done this well.
I cant help wondering if it is up hill or down hill from here.
Not wanting to sound negative, but once our players become "stars" something seems to change.

 

They done OK but couldn't of asked for better fixtures to get to a world cup final, its the worst England team on paper I've seen, but with them being a young team they will improve and get more experience. Playing forwards / no9 ( ali - lingard ) as centre / wide midfields while defending was always going to be a problem when playing against better teams, they is only such ground Henderson can cover before he is knackered.

Neither team Belgium and England will want to play a playoff for 3rd. Couldn't think of a more than drab game.

 

Pride has got nothing to do with it.

I am just not satisfied with the way we play - it was very meandering at best, too many unnecessary back passes and square passes.

Over time, that style of play makes the forwards worry about home so that they're less likely to take a chance in making attacks into the box.

Then, at the very end of the game, some body ought to have told the players that even though they're really tired, they shouldn't show it on their face or in their body language to the opposition.

But, if they did, they ought to use it to lull the opposition into a false sense of security.

 

Pretty poor game and result . In comparison 2 fantastic matches of the highest quality at Wimbledon today. 4+ hours of concentration and effort from 4 really talented athletes in both games.
