Blimey @Logan I never knew you could root black currant bushes in water and they look fantastic:love30:

I like to root lots of things in water although at times it can take anything up to six months for the cuttings to start making a root.I have actually managed to root some cuttings of my Daphne shrubs and as the main plants were expensive to buy in the first place I am pleased with my success:biggrin:

Thats how I root new Strawberry plants, I cut the runners and leave them in water for a couple of weeks by that time they have nice roots and pot them up in very wet compost. Not sure if it's what your meant to do but it seems to work.

      RAIN came tumbling down

Thanks @Kandy they only took a few weeks to root. Usually have to wait until the autumn. But i had to cut some of the old stems out, so thought got nothing to lose. Got a lot of garden in the front so I'm going to dig up some of the lawn.

@BigC usually pot up strawberry runners while still on the plant, but it works for you so that's alright.

Well, it is raining. Quite heavy too. :)
Perfect timing......I applied lawn food yesterday, front and back. The sun will return later but garden looks fresh, clean and sparkling:). Certainly needed the rain:)

No sign of rain here. It's 8.40 am and it's hot already.

Afternoon @verdun:smile: my runner beans are just coming into flower. I was late sowing them because of the cold.

Another week, another batch of deadheading. Got my hopes up that we'd be getting some rain, when the BBC gave it a 60% chance, but to no avail once again.

Well it rained all day yesterday, non stop, right through until 1am...Full sunshine this morning so I brushed the grass and headed out to work at 8am....Came home for lunch and cut and edged the grass...its looking pretty good...there's a lot to be said for looking after it...aeration, scarification, feed and weeding really does work...the only problem is that if your not careful it can become an obsession :roflol:

I don't think we've had rain for about 8 weeks now. When nearby towns get it, it always seems to miss us. It's like we've got our own microclimate. Another scorching day today. The garden is covered in gigantic cracks.

Weeded the front outer border today and clearing away dropped rose petals etc.

Yesterday I had planted some iris's in the pond and split a load of water lillies and other grasses etc. cleared the smaller pond out and it's looking lovely and clear today. loads of froggies! :D

100%...It was always overlooked up until a couple of years ago, things were getting worse, lots of moss, with clover dandelion and daisy dispersed throughout so I set my stall out and sought advice and put in the graft...its easier now just keeping on top of it...much better than my neighbour who must pay at least £50 to GreenThumb (a garden maintenance company) and his grass looks like :mute:...He could give me 50 beer tokens a month and I'll look after it for him no sweat. The only thing that separates his grass from mine is a 2 foot border and a fence board. He must have more money than sense.
