Hi all, I'm completely new to landscape gardening but after my lawn deteriorated into a giant mound of weeks I've cut it up and am starting again. I was going to go straight for turf but now am not so convinced. If I could add a bit more interest other than an L shape of lawn and a flower bed that, let's face it, will be much too narrow to do much good, then that would be great. All ideas appreciated, especially those within the scope of a newbie!
Gravel with a small water feature lit up at night. Simple nesr zero maintenance, clean lines. Plant into good quality pots with feature plants. ?
Hi WeeTam, Thanks for replying. I've seen some beautiful gravel gardens but weeds are a worry for me. How do you stop them creeping up the edges, even if you use a membrane? Thanks, K
Hello @KWard18 we have both our gardens gravelled front and back..ours is doubled lined and you do get the odd weed that can force through but what a couple to loads I have to agree with @WeeTam
Thanks @Gail_68 , just watched a chap on youtube use expanding foam to bond the membrane to the wall/patio flags! Tempted!
What we did was just lined the boarders and done pea gravel and the main part where the grass used to be got double lined and 3 tone of larger gravel and the front was double lined and 5 tone of pea gravel. This link is about garden lights but you'll see my garden on there besides @martin-f and it can give ideas off ...I can't add pic's otherwise as my own laptop is playing up Garden Lighting
Hello Mate, there's plenty of beautiful gardens on here to give you inspiration and sometimes it doesn't cost a lot and you can get some good bargains on ebay etc
