Nice plant Gail.....you can divide liatris after flowering to give you a nice group of them next year :)

Hubby wants me to add some in pots and add more to the decking for colour :snorky:...he went up there this morning to take photo's as I feel rough today and they'd totally gone all of them but last night he described it to me better when asking...as the one plant really took his eye.

Verdun ignore my Elijah as he said the grasses was thicker stemmed but I've drawn on my Elijah plant how he explained it...a green stem coming up in the middle straight then the purple flower head in the shape I've done it but when the flower head blowed it fanned out like Ponytails do...that's the white on the pic :phew: :snorky:

Ha ha Gail....wondered what I was looking at there for a moment :)

I can only suggest googling molinias and see if they match. The only other purple like flower on a grass I can think of is Calamagrostis brachytricha. Mine is yet to flower although it wont be too far off.

Sorry Verdun ….it's a shame they've gone because otherwise we could be going on for days guessing :dunno: I know he said it wasn't a plant with others attached just the one flower head off a stem in the middle and they was pricy to what I have paid previous

Oh well he might get some more but he asked hubby if we wanted more bottle brushes and you know the answer to that already :heehee:

Verdun you really have added some beautiful pictures and such great displays but if you had to think out the top of your head...could you roughly guess how many plants you possibly have :what:

Gail, whoah! :) Hundreds? Thousands? :noidea:
I have excellent plants too in 3, 5 and even 10 litre pots that I want but still waiting to be planted in their "perfect" positions

That count alone says it all for the beauty of what your pic's show...always something or things flowering and you must have some lovely scent in your garden :wow:….Jealous this end ;)
