Once again the forecast rain has failed to appear. Initially forecast for 15:00, then 16:00, then 17:00 and now 18:00, but not a sign of it yet.

I'm now starting to get more interested in what the weather's going to be like next Friday evening during the eclipse.

EDIT1: 18:00 No rain, now not forecast until 20:00, I don't believe it's going to happen.

EDIT2: No rain now forecast until 21:00, I think it must be evaporating in the heat.

We just had a few spots of rain - literally a few spots. You couldn't see it, but you could smell it.

Currently very overcast, very close, and very oppressive; time for beer methinks :ccheers:

The forecasters got it wrong as usual, they said risk of thunderstorms, they still are.
But it was cloudy and cool all morning, then light on /off rain most of the afternoon.
Not amounting to more than nuisance value, but been much cooler at 21C

Strangest thing has been the total lack of any wind.

Errr, but Mr Trump has said there is no such thing as Climate Change.:dunno:

Solar minimum period is referring, as I said, to electro magnetic activity not a cooling of the Sun affecting the climate of the Earth:doh:. Astronomers have recorded the cyclic increase and decrease of the Sun's electro magnetic activity, it's corona and solar flares for hundreds of years going back to the early Chinese Astronomers who kept accurate records. Ice ages are also cyclic and a natural event but they don't mean an end to civilisation.:dunno::snorky:

Hmm, my neighbour reads the Express and gives it to me.:love30: I don't read it but use it to line my cats litter tray where my cats show their appreciation of the Express's journalism.:cat-kittyandsmiley:

Well, I'm sure he does:doh:. Pulling out of the Climate Agreement, opening up America's coal mines to pour millions of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, attempting to reverse the Clean Power Act in America, now allows Coal waste to be dumped into american rivers and lakes by commercial firms. No, you're right, Mr Trump really does have the World's and the environment interests at heart.:dunno:

Well, I don't give any credibility to the conspiracy or "scientific" theories on the Net or in the National "Rags" which helps me keep an open mind. I'm also an Astronomer.......

with a 12 inch aperture scope sitting in my Observatory and looking at the Stars, planets, and Universe tend you make you keep your feet on the ground but your brain out there in the cold, vast blackness.........that's where the "truth" is.:snorky:

It's up and running again, Gail, but I still need to fine tune the telescope mount for tracking and also the critical focal length between the camera and the telescope.........oh, and some clear skies.:heehee:
