Well, if you take any recipes off him and brew them you might lose your vision for a day or two, forget who you are for a week, and spend the same week in the smallest room in the House.:dunno::doh::heehee:

Phwoarrr!! Is that an old speckled hen pump I see? Awesome big C!

Nooo armandii.. I've just used the shed as a dumping ground for now  you can't see the posts or Crete for hen bedding on top... this is my version of tidy :roflol:

              20180724_211811.jpg

Hmm.. people say crecote is practically the same but I've also heard its nothing like the old stuff.. guess I'll have to buy some and see! I need to dip the fence posts in some too before I set them in the ground..
I loved the smell when I was younger

Well, my 120 feet of 4"x 2" timber fence that runs along the lane at the bottom of my garden has been treated annually with Creosote/Creocote over nearly 30 years so they've soaked in the stuff and for the last few years have not needed any treatment. Most of the fence, on both sides, is covered with Ivy down the to ground so plants will eventually grow over it. When I did treat the fence on the back lane side, people would stop and chat and say that it did remind them of when they were younger:dunno::heehee:

Yes, soaking the ends of the timber in Creocote for a while is a good idea and I do that with all my timber jobs, but make sure it's fully dry before you use concrete.

I think that's just "things in the good old days were better" talk:dunno:. I've used Creocote on many jobs and I think it's just as good as Creosote was. It has got pricey:hate-shocked:, Linz, which is why I'm glad I've got a good stock of it. I would try looking in B&M, if you have one in your area as, if it has it in stock, it will probably be cheaper than anywhere else.:coffee::snorky:

Just done some post-dusk gardening as its been too hot any other time...

Chopped back a load of alchemilla mollis, dead headed a load of plants, put some new plant supports in that i bought from Tatton Park and cut back excess growth from tomato plants. Oh and took out the alyssum from my pots as it had gone past best and no amount of watering would bring the flowers back.
