Just in my small neck of the woods there is already trouble. All the grass for miles around has stopped growing. The Aberdeen Angus cows and calves in the fields next door have broken out 3 times in the last week in search of more food and the farmer has started to put out food, which I'll bet was earmarked for this winter. What the hell happens come winter who knows. All I do know is the dreadful plight of neglected horses and ponies is going to reach fever pitch come winter. as they won't be putting on enough weight during this summer to sustain themselves when winter hits. I'm thankful we only have 1 horse as I expect much of this country's hay/hayledge requirement will have to be imported at huge expense.

 

This is true. Cereal prices are decided globally. If say, the harvest is poor in Britain and Europe and maybe a bumper year in North America the price evens out depending on what the global commodity price is. So a poor harvest here doesn’t necessarily mean high cereal prices here, but if harvest is poor in several areas around the world the global price will be high everywhere.

Yes, but some one made money by doing it, not cheap with port fee's, demurrage (if not unloaded on time etc) labour and haulage, so some one knew how to make it pay but it don't happern now that i know of
