Cactus update

They probably know your going to bin them.

 

Just mentioned it to hubby as the glass I put them in is a White friars ….oh dear dear

Stick with it and remove the fake flowers

 

Right we're in to experimental stage now ….do I just yank them off

 

I dunno, never bought a plant with fake flowers

How are they fixed?

 

Oh Dear, they have now started a protest march. @Gail_68 , you might be in trouble with the girls tonight.

 

Oh Pete i'm in stitches here mate and I got the other half telling me to keep them, it's only because I bet the dirt's wrecked his vase...thick pieces of glue ontop of the cacti with the plant head attached ….I need to start taking my spec's being ripped off

 

sorry Selleri for saying pete... are the actual plants fake also?

No the plants aren't fake; they are real cacti and as Pete said they will grow on and flower, if happy. You might have to snip the flowers off just above the glue. Also as the container doesn't have drainage holes be very careful with watering. I would repot them into a gritty compost using clay pots.

Hi Nigel, I hope your doing ok mate and cheers for the advice and i'll go and cut them off in a bit...will the glue come off on it's own?...I only put a drop around them today and the compost is mixed with Horticutural Alpine mix all the way through and a layer on top as you can see, so when you add water like I did today I can see where it's going in the glass regarding depth...will it still be ok?

Well @pete the false flower heads was removed last night at 00:30am and as I was snipping them off as @NigelJ suggested the glue came with them and they're still on my kitchen window and not the bin...i'll keep watering them a little when needs be....thanks so much for helping and yourself @NigelJ

When I go to that garden centre again as I pick up locusts besides sometimes...they'll be questioned as if i'm interested in buying some and if they say they are real...oh dear dear i'll have to put some restrain on my mouth if they say yes

Good for you Gail.
Now take Nigel's avice and be very careful with the watering, being in a container with no drainage holes.
Also, often plants roots dont like light, only a few orchids and that kind of stuff that grow on trees, with aerial roots, actually like sunlight reaching their roots.
So see how they go, dont expect any massive changes very fast, it's not like that, just slow gradual movement, and given sun through next winter, kept fairly dry, and cool, you could see real flowers next year.
