Before you buy any though Gail, check they are suitable for your garden .....tempting arent they? :)
Had a wander around back garden to check if anything has been damaged in last night's rain......all ok and looking refreshed. Sure a hosta muttered "thank you" to the heavens as I passed :snorky:
Lovely n sunny so put washing on the line....hey ho! It poured down :gaah:Sunny again now so :noidea:

I'm holding off buying for a bit actually Verdun it will be a restrain though :snorky:...oh I am definitely doing that now with the advice you gave me and also @KFF

I bet you am pleased the hosta had a good watering...I don't hang washing on the line..what's the point when it's more or less by the washer

The only thing that's fell here is an empty jug thank god :)

I was :hate-shocked: yesterday as hubby as been emptying out his 3 sheds slowly he added on top of the wall he built and it was full off plants and got hostas at the time and said it won't be long before you can fill that back up with plants...I nearly collapsed on the spot ;)

Am I the only one not to have a tumble drier? :noidea:
I have been involved in buying one or two but never considered it for me :noidea:
Today with the frequent heavy showers I can see my underpants getting a load of rinses out there :). The blue ones contrasted well with a tall yellow dahlia :lunapic 130165696578242 5:Mind you after hanging on the line in the open air they do feel ever so refreshingly comfortable

I'm a little concerned about tomorrow's storm due here.....lots of tall perennials like dahlias, heleniums, verbenas, tithonias, etc could be battered. They have been grown sturdily though so it will be interesting. It's a walled garden and trees around so the brunt of the winds are usually not felt:noidea:

Verdun there's many with out tumble dryers but it's worth the purchase on wet days....as long as your underpants are contrasting well...fly them well I say :loll:
I mean I was told by a previous neighbour I was ashamed to put my washing out :yikes: but nothing was said...when I dried hers numerous times :gaah:

Well me for one hopes your plants can with hold the winds as you have a glorious show going on with your plants by the pictures you've added and having a wall garden that should do a large protection on them :fingers crossed: :)

Fun n games here....hot sunshine, heavy showers, hot sunshine, etc :noidea:
But I have been out removing old flowers on dahlias, etc., to reduce the weight and volume when the storm does arrive tomorrow.

            Thanks Gail.....kind words :)

Eucomis sparkling burgundy, I think the heat has got to it, lost most of its colour, needs some shade I think.

@pete, I gave up on my Podranea when it came up out of the orchard, through the ceiling and deck of the outdoor living room, over the gate and along the trellis to the kitchen door blocking exit ... about 12 meters and going strong ... a bit like your Campsis. The Podranea still comes up out of the orchard and has to be massacred back yearly!

Well I have to grow it in pots, but I know what you mean, a few years to get it established and then it takes over the world.

I've got a D.wrightii not far off of flowering, its growing round the base of the strelitzia, thought it had rotted last winter, but was just late starting.
