Your eucomis is well ahead of mine @pete how old is it? I bought 3 bulbs (the biggest I could find) earlier this year to see how I got on with them, mine are also in pots. You feed them much?

Hi Linz, well to be honest I bought it last year and it's still in the same pot, another plant I didn't pot on this year, but I did check and the roots were not that great.
Only fed it a couple of times this year.

I've been growing seed grown Eucomis in the garden for years, mostly only with a very slight purple leaf colouring, so last year I bought this.
The ones in the garden have not shown any signs of flowers as yet, but that is normal, especially since they have become a bit overgrown by other plants over the years.

The bulbs do get massive eventually.

                  Thanks Tetters :)

Well, I had a good look around the garden and there was some damage from the heavy rain and strong winds but nothing too bad:)

A couple of cannas.....over 9' tall...were blown over but stems intact so a couple of stakes rectified that. A few dahlias were battered but, again, no stems broken so fixed.

Amazing really that garden is still intact :)

Sorry (not sorry) to throw the thread off with a not so good looking plant.

                    20180729_155102.jpg

The other 2 I've forgot the names of and are pretty much the same size but green leaved.. would of forgot the burgundy's name if you hadn't mentioned it

They were extremely slow to come alive mind and I haven't fed them, so will do soon :blue thumb:

Talking of eucomis, I am growing Dark Star for the first time this year. A real cute dwarf form. Still growing on but I will put into a terracotta pot this week and top dress with white grit:)
It is hardy here....it was left outside over winter but covered with a sheet of glass
