OK when is the best times to go to a Lidl store to acquire such bargains..I suppose its a silly question really but when does one go what day am/pm which is stock replenishing day gardening goods inward or is it pretty random...just to see if there is a pattern

Thursday mornings, @BigC - sometimes with another set of plants on offer on a Saturday/Sunday. Pushkin's nandina looks to be one of those: Sacred Bamboo - at Lidl UK

It's possible that your Lidl wasnt doing the sempervivums - they have more than one cycle of these, I think, varying by location. If you sign up for their newsletter (link on home page) that alerts you to the various deals but they will ask you for a postcode for just that reason.

I am a Lidl expert (how sad!) as I tend to shop there weekly anyway - they do very good meat, cheese, fruit and veg etc. - and if I go on a Thursday then I can check over the new plants too!

I have bought good gardening tools from them too. As my neighbour says, "They can't sell bad tools - Germans wouldn't buy them!"

        edited to correct link

I check online for what's coming up and try to go on the day of release.
I also have a few Lidl stores by me so if one doesn't have it I go to another.

All they had was what I bought labelled as Nandina Domestica.

Usually the hardest part of the job is trying to get the labels off the pots! :snorky:

Yesterday I brought a new Granite bird bath...made from Crushed marble mixed with high quality resin and I am pleased with it and the other one will go on the front :)
