Garden centre are classed as brownfield sites so easier to sell off and use for housing?

I buy my garden fertilizer & compost at Wilko, so 50% off at Wyevale would be the prices charged at Wilko.

It'ĺl be a financial disaster if our local Wyevale closes, we get approx. 100 x 2.4 x 1.2m non-returnable pallets p.a. from one of the concessions operating from there which provides loads of decent size slats for use at our plot, plus masses of kindling and the struts get added to our free logs [1] to heat our house.

          [1] Chainsaw fuel/oil costs only.

Wyevale aka The Garden Centre Group now Wyevale ....

And now Blue Diamond - Wyevale sells eight largest garden centres to Blue Diamond - Retail Gazette

"The Wyevale centres that have been sold include those in Bicester, Cardiff and Cadbury.

Blue Diamond said it planned to invest £16 million in remodelling the newly-acquired stores over the next three years to make them more like its Redfields Garden & Living Centre in Hampshire and its Blue Diamond Garden and Home store near Nottingham"

As I use Wyevale Bicester (Oxon), can anybody advise me what to expect when it turns into a Blue Djamond garden centre?

Blue Diamond run a GC near my new work office, I have called in a couple of times. They are good quality but expensive. They sent me some discount vouchers so plants were reasonable value using those. They have a very nice cafe and lots of non gardening goods so Mrs JWK liked it.

Oh dear, no free seeds or seriously reduced compost, looks like yet another GC that wont be getting my custom any more.
