It's funny you saying that Logan because when I have the duvet on me I can't hear the alarm clock but sleeping on top with this heat i'm wakening at 6am :thud:

All day it's been nothing but hot again and humidity levels do kick in about 11am :phew: and getting through the day is like a mighty chore :dunno: Temp here at the moment 62F

@KFF sorry mate but it's another night on top ;) :loll:

Yesterday still reached 95F/35C and the promised rain and thunderstorms overnight never arrived. It makes me sceptical about them saying it will be cooler today and only reach 24C.

It was 63F/17C at 6 a.m., slightly overcast with the sun coming through.

Well, yesterday we had a high of 40c, but the thunder forecast for 8pm didn't come.

We went to bed at midnight, with temperatures of 28.5c. As we settled into our mozzie-netted bed, with all Windows wide, wide open, there was a grumble to the north west. So glad I got up to look. Within mins we had mini-tornado style winds roaring up the valley. You could actually hear it approach! Ran around closing windows again, as it was strong enough to move our dormer windows! The sound of cracking branches from the woods was not good. After 15 mins of winds, we had a few spots of rain, then sheet lightning, then torrential rain, before the storm blew out. The temp had dropped to 20c in the storm, but then rose again. Climbed out of bed to open windows. Two more storms came through, each time dragging me out of bed to first close, then re-open the windows. This morning it was only 24c upstairs, and a blissful 19c outside. All windows open again!!

          Aftermath garden inspection.
The rush in the pond was blown over, but not damaged.
Half the chilli pots were blown over, but none snapped.
Tomatoes held on - I had harvested/tied in yesterday evening.
No broken branches that I can see on any of our trees - result!
A total of 2mm of rain fell... tomorrow, maybe, tomorrow....

Same here, it looked like it might rain and I left an empty bucket on the patio overnight to measure how much. I'm sure I heard it pouring down in the middle of the night but it was a dream, come morning time and absolutely nothing. We have had no rain since leaving @shiney's Open Day when there was a spectacular thunderstorm on the way home at the end of May.

 Now I know who to blame.... @JWK ..leaving out a measuring bucket is really tempting fate.
I`m wondering if washing all the windows will work. Here in the middle of East Kent, high up on the downs, we see the dark clouds and the rain falling all around -both north and south coast, while here it`s a bit like Moses` parting of the red sea, sweet naff all... so I`ve been playing with my new toy - a Gardena hose, one of those posh jobs that puts itself away (even that didn`t work - still no rain)

23.4C today, so a good 10 degrees down on yesterday.
Squeezed 5 mm of rain out the clouds yesterday evening and in a shower overnight, but it had dried up by 5.30 this morning, hardly visible.

                            looks rubbish for tomorrow.

I'm going to start a "bring back summer" campaign.
