    I found this plant growing around the base of my small Caragana tree. The stems have thorns. I feel I should know what it is, but so far it has escaped me. Friend or foe?Please help!

      Yes, that's it (I would never have guessed)! I didn't think it could have been grafted, but there you go...... you learn every day. It makes sense, there are 5 or 6 shoots right around the base. Thank you, Silver Surfer!
