I am catching up with the new series of Love your garden. :)

I accept it may not be to everybody's taste but I love it.....the sentiment, the pleasure it gives both to the team and to the beneficiary and the finished gardens.

Ok! They area instant gardens, a bit Chelsea-ish and not sure about some of the planting but a thoroughly enjoyable hour's viewing

Well done A. T. and the team. :)

Sorry folks but. A T really bugs me. Perhaps the media is much to blame. OK. A T gained a diploma cert at Kew. Then stardom grabbed him. Now the Yorkie gardener is one of TV's greats. This guy has a finger in so many pies. OK he has the gift of the gab. Like it or lump it. Me. I totally dislike the guy.

Personally. I have a serious relationship to horticulture. Really please. When did YOU actually see Alan working. Yes he always has so much garble but, that fork or spade was meant to use, not to lean on. Sorry but I find him to be such a bore and waster. I wonder how he'd fare say on mastermind, minus pre emptive scrtipt.

Tonight's garden is beautiful, love the way they've planted so many trees, created a den, wild flowers, woodland flowers, it's lovely and natural looking. And such a deserving family too. I hope the garden brings them all healing and peace and happiness.

Other episodes I haven't been so impressed in terms of artificial lawn, and not much in the way of planting, but agree that the show is very heart warming.

Not seen tonight's yet but, for me, always heartwarming

Mike, how can you "totally dislike a guy " you have never met? I dont doubt Alan Titchmarsh's sincerity for a moment. Does it really matter if he doesnt do all the physically hard work?
He presents a programme designed to make folks feel good and he does it brilliantly

Good morning I love all gardening programmes and all ways have done,I can learn from them ,get ideas from them, and for many people who haven't got a garden or can't often get in to the garden, they are truly liked, and welcomed.who presents them is really irrelevant to me as I am always looking at the bigger picture, well done A.T .

Don't think that is quite right Mike, from what I know Alan Titchmarsh came through the ranks and did his training as an apprentice gardener then gained qualifications at a Horticultural College so he must have been hands on. Maybe he isn't hands on now, but of course all these shows are carefully staged with a heavy gang doing the hard work out of sight. I admire him because he knows his stuff from first principles. Compare to the latest breed of presenters who haven't got that training background and will sometimes come out with complete twaddle, I'm thinking Monty Don who is style over substance.

I too admire Alan Titchmarsh. Yes, he knows his stuff but also comes across as a very decent man :). Always "watchable" for me :)

I reckon lots of 'mere men' probably get a bit jealous of people like Alan and Monty - housewives favourites :snorky:

.....not that I would include you of course Mike :nonofinger:
