      Muhahahaha...

Yes, yours truly is once again the Spud King, and our reign will begin with a command mandated from heaven.

All kneel down and take my decree:

All participants of the Spud In A Bucket competition must undergo Judgement Day within seven days.

      Good luck minions.

Notify this sovereign on how you get on.

Worry not, minion, as you have seven days in which to undertake Judgement Day.

You all may have noticed that fifteen entries were pictured but sixteen ranking positions were actually published (two entrants both got 7th place).

The reason is very simple: a latecomer.

The total number of entries was 20.

3 Did not finish (DNF) - that is, their seed tubers failed due to neglect, pests and/or diseases.

1 was afflicted with PPE (Premature Potato Extraction).

Somewhere within this tangled mass was my entry for the Tri-carrot Challenge:

After much pulling, hosing down, some carrot Brazillians and general beautifying, here are the top three ranked entries:

The remaining are not ranked in any particular order.

Incidentally, can you spot the cheeky but fun entry?

For the Tri-carrot Challenge, there were seventeen entries in total.

Six did not qualify (DNQ), ie the entrants could not produce three carrots of at least 7cm in length.

For this challenge, I got the silver medal.

You have eyes like the proverbial...

And obviously a connoisseur of the orange, nature's night-vision enhancing snack.

My spud in a bucket ( or Trug ) was a bit of fun . The early spuds were successful , getting over 2kg from each Trug . The main crop were the much lauded Sarpo Miras . On unearthing 50% were a bit mushy and discarded. Completing the final costings on this exercise , seed spuds +compost + labour. This worked out at £17.53 per kg :snorky:
It's back to Asda/Tesco for me. I'll just stick to growing my chillies :blue thumb:
