Brexit - am I stupid or what?

He's going to get it from the 10% of company shares that are supposed to be for the workers. If you study the proposals they want companies with over 250 employees to put 10% of their shares aside for the staff. Sounds good if you're the staff but there's a catch. The dividends from the shares are the only cash available and no member of staff can get more than £500 per year. The rest of the dividend goes to the government. It's been calculated that the government may get billions out of it.

 

Part of the problem, regardless of party, is that there is a lack of younger blood - - I am generalising, i know, but in the main politicians are generally that wee bit older and almost invariably loaded (especially the special club that is the House of Lords). Its not so much that they have lost touch with normal life, but more that none of them have ever experienced it.

I'm not really being fair about this as our local MP's have always been good ones (apart from one) Two of them have even been gently removed from a government appointment for not agreeing with their boss.

 

Yes @silu I can understand your feeling too. I was so shocked by the Alex Salmond news as I alway felt he was such a good guy. Just hope it’s not true but not holding my breath. We are all in this together it seems and to me no sensible end in sight. Theresa May never wanted to leave the eu so is not doing her best by the country I feel, but then nor is anyone else in the government I feel. Ho hum.

I did look, but their manifesto wasn't out yet and things were still looking a bit sketchy to me; I will wait and watch though.

Sturgeon and Salmond both seem hell bent on breaking up the union and / or destroying what is a pretty great part of the UK.

 

Good afternoon I suspect that all the party's and the EU taking part in this fiasco know exactly how it will finally pan out,they are very good actors and are playing their parts extremely well and have always known the final outcome from day one
