Hi all, moved in some months back and now have a good sized 40ft garden to deal with. Handy thing is my wife and her mum love to do all the plants and are really good with all that. My focus is on the lawn, want to make it really nice - don't we all. Anyway, plenty of moss is present so i have mowed and scarified it using flymo 3400 and ready go seed, but looking for advice on how to approach this all. Any advice is welcome :)

:sign0016:, I'm more a plant person, although I love my lawn.
Lawn lovers will advise, I'm sure, I could do with some advice myself :)

    Welcome to the forum!

It might help people give advice if they knew your zone/approximately where you are?

    Welcome asl9791. :)

As Lori says it would help us if you would place your area in your avatar box please. This gives us an idea on the climate you have. It may well be too late in the season for seeding now as grass seed needs approximately 12C to germinate. The weather is also going to become colder later this week. Having said that we have a 'Lawns' forum that will provide you with the help you need....link below.

thank you for your reply. have updated my location. Understand what you are saying about too late for seeding, but if that was the case what might be recommended going forward. Ive attached an image of my current situation after scarifying.

Considering your lawn has been scarified it doesn't look in bad condition. I would be inclined to leave it over this winter and use a weed and feed next Spring to encourage the grass to grow and thicken. With the moss gone that should be enough, but if not you could top dress and seed it if it doesn't respond. There are autumn feeds available but I'm not sure what you will gain from those as I've never felt the need to use them.
