We don't spend a lot at Christmas, have a artificial tree that is about 20years old and all the decs to go on it. That's the only decoration we have. Don't have to buy presents. Only food is the turkey all the trimmings, gateaux, homemade mince pies, homemade christmas cake and pudding. 2 bottles of sparkling wine to go with the dinner and pudding. Usually have a Australian brand but it's getting more difficult to get it.
@Fat Controller hope you can get someone to go into the loft for you, maybe a neighbour.:)

Not a lot of point really - the whole house had to be moved around to accommodate equipment and to make it easier for me to get around, so there isn't even a place to put our tree any more. Besides, Mrs C (the Christmassy one in the house) has no notion of decorating......... yet! If that changes, I do have good neighbours who would help in a heartbeat, I am sure.

I don't have dreams like that, I only dream of Mrs C......

Bless your heart - no doubt, the thinking will change (particularly when the lights start going up around us) and we will be asking someone to go up in the loft; definitely no tree though, as we have nowhere to put one!

We don't celebrate Christmas nor birthdays, anniversaries etc. Only the young kids in the family get presents. This doesn't mean we don't like Christmas but we consider every day a celebration. :blue thumb:

I can't stand the commerciality of it and the horrible noise when shops play their music too loud and all the shoppers are shouting in order to carry on a conversation.

As we don't celebrate it we tend to offer our help to charity organisations at Christmas and New Year - when we're not away. We've served meals to 'down and outs', transported elderly people to community dinners etc. Serving New Year's Eve dinners has been the toughest, physically, and we have decided not to do it any more :old:. It's a pity but it's just too much for us nowadays. It means many hours of hard work and also coping with helping druggies and alcoholics who stagger through the doors. The charity do a good job and provide mattresses and showers for a few nights. They serve food in the evening for the twelve days of Christmas but we usually help out on New Year's Eve when most of the helpers want to be with their families. Funnily enough, they have plenty of volunteers for Christmas Eve and Day.

To me, Christmas is all about the grandchildren, oh, and the food :) I just love preparing and cooking the Christmas dinner for them. Am I feeling Christmassy? Well, I see the food channel have started showing recipes for Christmas, so yes, I am :)

Christmas here isn't about money spent. It's about that ' Christmas spirit ' feeling :)
I love the way people are nicer to each other , smile more, and are generally more caring.
I will admit argos in December is like a rugby match :rolleyespink:
My kids are already making paper chains, cheap and fun:)
I didn't prompt that, by the way!
                            I love Christmas :wub2:
