Rubbish in trolleys I don't mind too much. It's those parents that stand their children in them that bugs me. Who knows what they've walked in beforehand!

I had a e-mail from DPD this morning saying they had a parcel from Spain for me and would deliver it today. As I knew I would be out for most of the I filled out DPD's app as to what safe place to leave the parcel in. Getting back today, and not finding the parcel, I checked the DPD site to find the parcel was still in the Warehouse:wallbanging: Why send an e-mail saying it would be delivered today if they're not going to do so:dunno::doh: DPD in the past has been very good, but on checking the reviews of the company, found that they barely managed two stars out of ten and that all the "reviews" were really negative with some horror stories of their deliveries. So, I'm hoping I will get the parcel on Monday.....perhaps, maybe.:hate-shocked:

If you have their app on your phone you can monitor where it is on a map, see how many drop offs before yours, and get updated ETA, which would have shown it wasn't out for delivery.

N.B. If you change delivery to a 'drop off location' (such as a local shop) you don't get an allocated delivery time slot , just an email (+ app alert) advising you when it's ready for collection.

I can't put apps on my phone for work reasons, even though I'm supposed to be retired, Scrungee.:dunno: Tracking through my computer works fine......the only problem is that the parcel has been stuck in DPD's Ware House for 48 hours plus this weekend. So tracking is not a problem, getting them to deliver the parcel is.:wallbanging::dunno::heehee:

Sainsbury's only allow vouchers against the right Nectar card.

I gave an example of their rubbish deliveries in post 880 (page 59). It was not a delivery for me.

This was the gist of the post about a parcel I found under a lamppost, late at night, near our house

It gave delivery instructions on the outside of 'If no answer, drop it over the gate'. Attached to the box was a delivery card saying 'You were out and we have left your delivery in a safe place'.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't those delivery notes supposed to be put through the person's letter box and not attached to the package and left 300yds away on a grass verge? I'm not sure that I would want my parcels delivered (or not) by DPD!

They must have changed it, they used to scan OK, and the only problem was if their staff physically noticed it was for a different card, but we've stopped using Sainsburys since they started charging to use their car park.

They definitely need the Nectar card now. It also says so in the small print.

Our Sainsbury's, next to the town centre, doesn't charge for parking unless you stay there over three hours. Tesco is on the industrial estate and doesn't charge at all.

Waitrose is in the town centre (different town) and only requires you to spend £10 to get free parking - checked on exit. It's next to the public, charged for, car park.

That usually means they've lost it and you need to get whoever you bought the stuff from to get to them to admit to it so a replacement can be sent.

Using another one used to work. Have you actually tried it? We test things like this are going to work by 'accidentally' cross-pollinating one anothers cards and vouchers, and get ready to explain we've muddled them up if they get rejected, which hasn't happened so far.

Well, that really cheered me up, Scrungee:heehee:. I've had similar situations with other couriers and they've always managed,in the end, to deliver the parcel. I'll give DPD until Wednesday and then take action if the parcel has not been delivered.:dunno::snorky:

Glad I could help :blue thumb:

There's supposed to have been a huge increase in stuff going missing from Royal Mail in the last 12 months, and couriers may also suffering from a similar (unreported) increase. I wonder when parcels get logged into the wharehouse and then go missing, how easy it would be for them to get loaded unrecorded onto wrong (uns) delivery vans and disappear without trace.

:nonofinger: I thought it was only me (+ 100s/1,000s of others) that did that sort of thing. I've spent a few hours over the 'Black Friday' period trying to get all sorts of things working in combinations that suposedly shouldn't work together, none did, but I do find the occasional one.

I tried an experiment when I found some vouchers in a trolley. It said the Nectar card didn't tally.
