What a mess. Perhaps it may prove of some benefit to. Stay put for now. Negotiate whilst within. Hands up. I have no idea of how politics work. So at least I'm in the same class as the house of commons and the lords. Isn't it time we peasants realised. We are living in the world of the apes. Let the monkeys of parliament rule

Dont stop voting thats playing into their hands. British politicians on all sides are useless granted. They want you to stop voting so they become all powerful and will only be accountable to the mega corporations.

Keep voting and one day some one will come along and free us masses from the muppets that lead and have always led this mixed up unfair and hypocrital mess of a country.

Failing that get a gun get angry and hunt down your local mp, council leaders, media heads, local bullies, and the pc brigade who ruined this country. :paladin:

:goodpost: Thank you WeeTam.....I concur 100%, if possible I would go to 1000%, but las I can't. If you don't vote how can one argue for or against anything to do with politics??.
I did vote, and I voted out, we have to stand firm, the biggest problem with Brexit is nobody not even the cretinous morons in Westminster know how this will turn out.
It's never happened before, so there is no knowledge of how to handle the exit from the EU. No one knows what to do, you watch a remainder say one thing, just for a Brexiteer say the opposite....so who is correct??. and these are the so-called experts, ye gods what chance do we have?

          BJ.

Possibly just a wee bit over the top maybe? I'm no expert so I could be wrong :dunno:
When anyone says to me that they will not vote again etc I point out to them that if that is the case then they have lost the right to complain.

Although I agree with how useless a lot of our politicians are, I agree that we must always make the effort to vote. There are good ones out there, albeit few and far between, but they need the chance to try and do something right.

Which is why it is rather distressing to be disenfranchised after living abroad for 15 years, as per the current rules. In a lot of cases, what happens in the UK has a bearing on a British ex-pat's life. They probably still pay tax in the UK, their pensions are paid from the UK, they still have family in the UK, they work for a British company but work abroad etc. But, unlike certain categories of criminal, they lose the right to vote in any country. It's a strange interpretation of democracy:scratch:

I'll be joining you in the next couple of years. I have my residencia and the land now and have no intention of hanging around here any longer than I have to. Being disenfranchised is not my ideal but it's a small price to pay.

Are you off to Spain, longk? Lucky you! The good news is that there's a Bill going through Parliament to change the law. Even allowing for the slow grinding of wheels, you should be OK! I've got 3 years voting left and I'm really looking forward to using it in the next GE  and possibly another referendum :sofa: At least you'll be moving as a TCN from the word 'go' so no nasty surprises :)

But therein is the point @Warwick lad - I did (and always have) voted, sometimes my vote was in the majority; most times it was in the minority, but the outcome of that vote was carried out and that was that. Since the Brexit vote, all that has happened is that the majority of politicians have gone out of their way to try and overturn that, and thus allowing them an approximate 2-year campaigning period to scare the hell out of a lot of people, and a lot of businesses (and countries) outside the UK. Whether we like it or not, we are heading back to the polls in my opinion - whether that is another referendum (which I suspect will fall the other way at a similar margin) or a general election, I have no idea, but that is the only thing I can see happening. So, the vote that you, I and many others cast to leave the EU will not have been honoured or delivered, therefore what is the point in voting? And yes I could argue against politics because when all is said and done, I am a taxpayer - I pay into the system that pays for it all (including politicians wages) - if, by not voting, I forgo my right to have a say, their right to collect money from me should also be forgone.

A nice place to be. I climbed La Fortaleza in 1962 when I was in the Merchant Navy. We used to call at the island regularly but it was very quiet in those days. I believe they've turned the centre of the island into a National Park. It wasn't one when I was there.

I lived in the south of Tenerife many years ago. I think I'd been there three months when suddenly this island appeared on the horizon where no island had been before. I had to ask one of the locals what it was to ensure I hadn't gone mad. It can only be seen from Tenerife in certain weather conditions.
