Thank you @NigelJ and @Jiffy I think I heard Mrs Woo say something like "we need a new one" there's definitely no feathers in it as we use them for making pillows:heehee:

Years ago we had a stand alone spinner that I sat on to stop it going out the back door.

oh, this reminds me that I still haven't gotten my new washer. Ordered it in January 2017 and was told I'd have it by last fall. Delays keep happening and now they say by the end of this first quarter 2019... :th scifD36: it's a people powered washer. I hope I get it by the spring at least as I'd like to do my wash out on the back deck in small loads spread out over the week.

I usually go to Sainsbury's to do the weekly shop, but I always arrive around 9.30 a.m. I can usually find a space at the end of one row or other, where there is an area of cross-hatching next to it to prevent the car at the end of the line being hit by cars turning around the end of the row. I put my near-side wheels a foot or two inside this area, which leaves a couple of feet between my off-side and any parked car in the next space. The only damage I have to my car is three small "car park door dings."

Many years ago whewn I managed large superstores, at one store, I was supervising the late-night fill, not usually my job, that's the food manager's, but he was on holiday so, showing willing, I said I'd cover one evening, the rest covered by other staff. The filling staff were mostly part-timers, students and a few married women. The work finishes around 10.00 pm. As I was locking up after all the staff had left, I watched one of these women back her car out of a space. The car park would have been half-full with customer's cars when she arrived for work. There were 200 spaces. She managed to back into my Alfa Romeo I had ar the time. Ours were the only cars in the car park.

I shop at Sainsbury's and only very occasionally have found it awkward to get into my car because of poor parking. Those times I used to go and see the manager and get him to put out an announcement for 'the driver of car ...' to move their car. It doesn't happen there now because they resurfaced and repainted the lines. This time they have made more room for each car and between each space are two lines a good 18" apart. :dbgrtmb:

Even if you parked at the far end of the car park someone will park next to you!!
When driving for a big haulage company there was one guy that would allways park up his lorry next to another, so i/we thought that if we park my lorry in the middle of the yard he would park next to it, he did, so when he was in the office i moved my lorry and park it in one of the bays, sure enough he then parked along side again

A female member of my golf club has a Porsche and she often straddles two parking spaces with her car at our club obviously to make sure it doesn't get "dinged." We just shake our heads.

The other week I noticed this in Sainsburys. In one corner of the car park there is an "L"shaped fence between the car park and someone's house. If you can imagine a row of bays along the bottom of the "L" and a car park service road along the left of the upright part. The spaces were all full up to the left corner of the "L" I saw a woman park her car next to the end one. So she was actually parked in the left-hand lane of the service road. Totally oblivious of what she'd done, she locked her car and walked away.
