Take some sidewalk chalk with you and next time she does it, write "Reserved Hog Parking" across the bottom of both spaces... when no one is looking :) I saw that at a mall parking lot one time and it gave me quite a giggle. No permanent damage done.

      Eyes!
      My eyes, more specifically.
Why did my eyes go from all seeing to blurry within months?!
I really don't get this ageing thing
Last eye test... 'Mrs H just a small perscription, you really shouldn't need them.......'
Today........I can't read my texts, the kids books, the calendar!!!!
Never mind a seed packet :rolleyespink:

@Loki my sight went downhill in a hurray after last summer. And it seems to be a cataract. At first I thought I'd rubbed dirt or sand in my eye and damaged it and that was why my sight suddenly deteriorated , but no, it is something that just happened as a trophy of getting older. I've had corrective lenses since I was 11 years old so I was quite aware of my nearsightedness and this last sudden change really frightened me. Now I know and it is something that can and will be fixed.

I hope you find a comfortable solution to your concern :)

@CanadianLori , thanks, I must admit it's a bit of a worry. Good luck with the cataract, by the way. i believe they are easy to correct? Good luck with getting it sorted.
The last time I went, glaucoma was mentioned. I don't know ŵhat it is, and after seeing my sisters reaction, don't think I want to
I've deliberately avoided googling it and don't want to:sofa:

@Loki If it is glaucoma it's very easily treated but it is very very serious if you don't get treatment. Don't mess about with it, go and get tested.

              Thanks @LauraRoslin , I think I will.
Even just writing it down here made it clearer what I should do.
You are the kick up the bum I needed! Thank you :)

@Loki Have you been tested for Diabetes at all as that is how my eyes went the Christmas we were away up in Derbyshire ten years ago and I couldn’t read the number plate of the car in front of us.Mr Kandy was driving and said it was the result of the brightness of the snow with the glare of the sun on it but I wasn’t so sure. After we got home I made an appointment to see the Dr and after blood tests it was confirmed I had succumbed to it so it might not be anything to worry about but best get it checked out.

A friend of ours, 86 years old, had both hers done a few months ago. She can now see better than she can ever remember.

Just got back home from doing an errand with Mr Kandy to find a couple with long cutting implements hacking away at our neighbours bushes in their front garden.I said to Mr Kandy it was strange as this young couple wouldn’t have gardeners in as they are strapped for cash:scratch: Five minutes later they walked up to our front garden fence and started cutting back all our roses and climbers etc.Mr Kandy rushed outside and asked what was going on only to be told that the builders had hired them to cut everything back to the fence line as on Wednesday people are coming round on Wednesday to do with adoption of the village roads but as far as we know it is only the Main Street that is down for adoption at this time as the paths and street lights have all been fixed over the last six weeks or so and the drains emptied. There has been no mention of our road being adopted at this time:sad:

We wouldn’t have minded but we haven’t even had a letter informing us of what was going to be done this morning and we could have cut back the foliage ourselves to the fence line. Now my honeysuckle, roses, cotoneaster etc has been hacked to pieces and even our Rowan has been trimmed to 6ft 6” so that any council operatives (who we never see anyway doesn’t get poked in the eye by a twig)

As I pointed out I am the mug that has cut the grass verge for the last seventeen years because if we waited for it to be cut it would be like a jungle now:sad:

The chap said he is being sympathetic by not ripping out my border that Mr Kandy put in for me as trying to mow up to the concrete edging at the base of the fence was causing problems with my mower and the flowers are helping the bees in the summer and the berries on mycotoneaster was feeding the blackbirds and other birds...

I am worried now that if we leave the house someone will come along and rip all the plants out of the border and we will be told to reinstate the border to grass.

                        I am so unhappy I could cry...:sick0026:

Kandy, where does your property end? If it's on the inside of the fence then you planted the border/shrubs on public land anyway, so you had no right to do so.

                            Quote from NHS:-

Surgery is usually offered on the NHS if your cataracts are affecting your eyesight and quality of life.

The decision to have surgery should not be based solely on your eye test (visual acuity) results.

You may have other personal reasons for deciding to have surgery, such as your daily activities, hobbies and interests.
