I've just read somewhere on the net that the 'pound plunged' after the vote to delay Brexit was rejected - - the politicians were still voting, and the markets are all surely closed at this time of night, so why exactly did the pound 'plunge'?

Well the MPs have voted for May to return and sort out the Irish border problem with the EU.

            Good luck missus.

The EU have kept saying, tell us what you want.

            Now they know.

            Sort it out Barney.

History was never my thing but. Was not Britain involved in two world wars to defeat dictator rulers. I can't help thinking that the present EU situation somehow resembles a form of dictatorship.

Well, what are they going to do now - Junker the Drunker has said they won't even consider any renegotiation - - looks like we are £39bn better of than we thought then, eh?

Knowing us we will still pay the money and go out with no deal, that is probably their thinking.

Although I still can't imagine they want a no deal situation.

Think they might come round as it gets nearer the time, even if the EU says no way, I tend to think heads of various governments might just get a bit edgy.

But if they want no deal, there aint much we can do about it.

Now who was that "lady muck" in the House of Lords that wasted time getting it stated that parliament should have the final say?

On the face of it a winning scenario then? But, the chancellor has made NO PROVISION for this money in any of the budgets since the vote so although we will be better off on paper the reality is that we won't be as we have no idea how we will be paying it anyway. Secondly, we can kiss any future trade deals with the EU goodbye. Lastly, does the government really need to see its credit rating downgraded to junk status which is what will likely happen if we default? The legal recovery of that money by the EU could well take decades but the higher cost of borrowing and the difficulty of obtaining credit caused by such a downgrading would start to hurt us far quicker.
