Last night watched the last and final episode of A Place to Call Home, it was very good how they ended it.

I turned the TV on the other evening and they were just starting The Real Marigold Hotel Buenos Aries. I enjoyed that one but not the previous one in Russia.

They showed the tango and explained that it was originally folk singing with the dance supposed to express the mood of the song. We only found that out when we went exploring in the suburbs of B.A. and came across a little barber shop with this sign outside.

      P1160979.JPG

The shop was quite small with two barber's chairs and a little café/bar off to one side. A few evenings a week they had Tango folk singing there when anyone could come along and sing. It was explained to us that it was an old tradition and there was no charge to go along. So we took a taxi one evening (the taxi driver asked why we wanted to go to an out of the way suburb :heehee:) and received a warm welcome. It could only seat about twenty people around the little tables and a few of the people managed to explain what was happening in their very limited English (our Spanish was virtually non-existent). The singers brought their own music on CD and almost all of them were had been retired for many years. Every one of them had fantastic voices and we had a great time.

In the TV programme two of our celebrities learnt one of the songs and performed it in front of people in a much larger bar than we had been in.

@Logan and @Verdun - the original Alan Partridge radio series has just been repeated on Radio 4extra and is available on BBC Sounds. Pure class and gloriously cringeworthy!

I watched Warehouse 13 on Pick. First episode of several series. Rather quirky but entertaining.
It's probably where Indiana Jones "Ark of the Covenant" is stored.

I watched the latest episode of "Endeavour" on Sunday night.
It suprised me that this supposedly briliant detective, was unable to deduce that the veterinary assistant he dated was likely to be the murderer.

                  "We knew it, didn't we?"

It's a fact that will dog his future career, even when he becomes "Morse." The women he takes a shine to are either involved in the crime, or are innocent bystanders who end up dead.
He should have married Joan Thursday, she wore increasingly shorter skirts and gave him enough chances.

I, obviously, don't watch much of the mainstream drama series that most people do :noidea: and tend to watch mainly quizzes and documentaries. Quizzes such as The Chase, Only Connect, University Challenge and Eggheads are what I enjoy and am also currently watching the Child Genius series. I don't get much time to watch TV but have also watched Great Indian Railway Journeys tonight - very interesting. I think that must be a niche type programme and I fit into that category :heehee:.

Have been following Endeavour...slow and dull. A slight academic reference of flashback creeps in now and again along with the odd bit of classical music. Can't say I am much entertained by this series.

I have found the engineering programs of the new rail systems to be interesting.

                            More on Endeavour.

                            Final episode.

Joan is looking very tired, I guess she's fed up with waiting for Endeavour.

In the final scene, he walks into the house he's just bought.

I might be wrong, but it looked exactly like the one in which Morse lived.

By the way it ended, it seems there's an opportunity for a further series.

Seems likely, as Shaun Evans has done naff all else, since 2015 and according to IMDB there's nothing in which he's involved in pre-production.

Strange storyline tonight. Morse is the only one not looking forward to promotion.

Actually it was announced at the end, that a new series will be screened next year. Bit odd, I thought just having a series of only four episodes.
