So lets assume they take No Deal off the table. We're left with nothing. The EU won't extend for a petty amount of time, it's pointless and they have elections getting in the way; so any extension would have to be 12 months+. If that happened there would HAVE to be a general election, surely?! New team / referendum / blah to continue or hopefully reset this fiasco.

All the people I speak to and see writing on social media want the no deal option to stay but all the politicians want rid of it! Aside from Jonny Mercer, he would like to keep it despite voting in favour of the deal yesterday

Juncker doesn't want to extend the period as it would mean that he would have to put up with Farage again in the EU parliament! Farage quite often sits next to him just to annoy him. :heehee:

Good! Just saw a clip of Farage's speech in the EU parliament, most amusing.

Seems like that plan is coming together.
I'm starting to think it has all been some gigantic con which is now coming to the end.
Remain wins because MPs didn't really want to leave in the first place, they have just been going through the motions.

Well I still respect Theresa May for the work she's put in.

The villain in my eyes is Gina Miller, she should not have got involved. If she hadn't then what I beleive should have happened might have. That is that any decisions would gave been made by the Government not the whole parliament. The Government run the country not the lower level minions called mp's ( especially J. Corbin and his cronies ).

PS.... i did vote remain in the referendum but along with most others who I know or who have been on the news, if asked to vote again I would vote leave as I believe the original vote MUST be upheld.

No it's not. There is a difference between Government and Parliament. Labour are part of Parliament not The Government.

I'd go for another referendum, bring it on, but the option to remain should not be there, that was sorted in the first referendum.

Lets face it, how many votes have that bunch of overpaid idiots had on the subject now, and they still cant compromise on how we leave?

I agree @pete , the options for another referendum ( if there is one ) should be.....

                    1) Leave under Theresa Mays deal

                    2) Leave with no deal.

The whole point of Parliament is to act as a check and a balance against the powers of Government. Without that check and balance, the ruling party can do what they like. Which is basically a dictatorship. You may not like the result but it's how democracy works.

I support no party. As a respecter of persons, I have a certain admiration for the PM. It is known that she had a pesonal desire to remain in the EU. She has taken over the face to face negotiating as no other member of cabinet could stand the pace. In respect of the past couple of days, voting for this that and the other has taken place and that woman has taken the flack from all quarters. Politicians from all sides have condemned her but has anyone come up with an alternative plan.

What I see in the news is. At meetings in Brussels, lots of smiles, hugs etc. Behind it all. Of course the EU don't want us to leave... I confess I have no exact idea of what we pay in, but I imagine it amounts to the UK being in the top three.

We came through two world wars and rebuilt our nation. All this concern about international trading. We will soon sort that out. Here in the UK. It seems that the majority say, we voted to leave. So. Let's leave.

On a personal point. I have never been so well off!!!!!! I have no debt. My pine box is paid for in advance. I manage to help my youngest daughter (53) and grand kids out. I run a car. I eat well, Sirloin steaks being a favourite and all types of seafood. I have a comfortable home and I am not short of clothes. I have rented a council property since 1964 and my rent account is some three months in advance. My monthly income is around £750. So I am quite content. Sadly I am a bit short on good health, ner'e mind a tipple or two at bedtime rounds off the day.

Absolutely agree, however the other side to democracy is that when the public is asked to vote on something and that vote returns a majority in favour of one of the options, that mandate should then be carried out whether we like the result or not - and currently, that is not happening.

                            nice Post Mike :)

Too much scaremongering about leaving the EU. How crass have our politicians and others been in our negotiations with the EU? The latest vote in Parliament has simply told the EU we will not leave without a deal no matter how bad it will be :noidea::noidea::noidea:
