Where are all my small wild birds gone?

I was wondering if anyone else have lost their regular visit of small birds ,we have loads of Sparrows ,Starlings ,Pigeons Blackbirds and Doves.
Gone are the Tits ,Finches and all manner of other small visitors ,we have a good selection of bird food and nest boxes waiting .
I haven’t seen a Bluetit for ages.

 

I think I've got them all here Roders. Greenfinches, too many Chaffinches to count, Goldfinches and a pair of Yellowhammers. Great, Blue, Coal and Long Tailed Tits. Would you like me to send you some?

 

I was wondering today where the long tailed tits have gone to.....haven't seen them for a few days. The two nest boxes at the bottom of the garden have had quite a bit of interest but not the one nearest to the house.

 

We've lost our Wagtails, both Pied and Grey.

 

We still have loads of birds luckily,some i know plenty i dont. Tits,pied wagtails,doves,wood pigeons,woodpeckers,tree creepers,pheasant,wrens,robbins,sparrows,fieldfares,blackbirds,thrushes,buzzards,falcon,jackdaws,yellow hammers and a beast of a heron.
In the country so plenty bushes,trees,hedges,water etc etc. Just waiting for the swallows,swifts and housemartins to join the party now.

 

Since we have had a few magpies more than usual there does seem less small birds even pigeons which are so messy

We've got our share here. Great Tits and Blue Tits are busy making nests in our central hedge and in a corner of our house and garage. Haven't see the Green Finches yet though they normally all prefer to nest in our conifers. Blackbird is back by the greenhouse she has nested there for the last 2 years now.
I always make sure to remove all the bits I might need so as not to disturb her and her chicks.

However, no sign of starlings!! Not complaining really because a couple of years ago they were everywhere ....noisy, greedy. I wonder if their disappearance has enabled the smaller birds to thrive

 

We got lots but nowhere like the number we used to have, greenfinches disappered number of years ago but we now have two

 

Some are regular every day visitors, Robin, Blackbird, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Goldfinch Chaffinch, Siskin, Starling, Woodies, Collared Doves and Blue Tits.
Coal, Great and Long Tailed Tits and Wren are now irregular along with Pied Wagtails. No Greenfinch in the garden for years.

 

For some years Greenfinches have suffered from the terrible disease, trichimanosis, and their numbers have plummeted. I believe there are now some signs of recovery.

 

This year is the first in many there is an abundance of Greenfinches here which I'm so pleased to see,Blue and Great tits a plenty and starlings are back with a vengence..Thus far it's looking promising here.
