With the greatest respect..all this jiggery pokery has always been based on lies and deceit right down to local elections. As a 'leaver' I have no problem with a second referendum but I do see it as making a mockery of the voting system and a great disrespect of the great British public.

Highly unlikely he'll ever arrive on my doorstep unless he's on an EU-funded gravy-train jolly. If he did though.....I've got the gun ready:biggrin:

Sigh...I've posted it before but I'll post it again anyway...... brexit chart.jpg

I do see where you're coming from, Loli, but is it really worth (possibly) destroying a country for the sake of a principle? It's already done untold harm, it could get far worse (or it could get better). But what a gamble on the basis of such a slim majority, all in the name of 'democracy'. Are anti-EU members of the great British public still truly convinced that Britain will better off out of it? In the light of current evidence, and that before it's even happened, I really don't see how they can be!

Well, the little bloke never wins, and the little bloke gets fed Bu** S*** from all sides.

I guess some are easily convinced by politicians babblings, promises we get at every election, usually stuff that in no way will materialise, but they still come out with it to get your vote.

I'll say it again also, I voted against joining in the first place, it was a pity France let us down and finally gave in and allowed us to join, after stopping it for years.

France is yet again one of the few countries that are on our side and want us out.:)
All we need now is Merkel on our side and we can walk away.

And telling the the electorate a pack of lies (in order to further your own political ambitions) is not a great disrespect of the great British public? Or what about being a major figure in the leave movement who tells the public that leaving will be financially good yet sends out brochures to the wealthy clients of his fund management company explaining that owing to the risks involved in Brexit you have opened up an office in Dublin to help negate these risks - is that not a great disrespect of the great British public?
And then there's Boris. When the referendum was announced he was asked which camp he would be backing - his response was that he hadn't really thought about it much and would have to think about it before he chose. What total and utter crap! He was a member of the tory party who have obsessed about Europe since the early seventies. What he was really saying was he would wait and see and then nail his colours to the camp that he thought would win. Surely nobody can deny what a great disrespect of the great British public that was!
You can say what you want about Peter Oborne who was a fervent Brexiteer but at least has had the decency to come out now and say that he got it wrong..............
I was a strong Brexiteer. Now we must swallow our pride and think again

Meh, politicians lie and stats can be manipulated. If people didn't do their own homework on their vote then really what should we expect? It's the way voting works.

I do the k that there should have been a margin applied for winning and a minimum turnout required but it's a moot point.

British Steel asks for £100m loan to pay for emissions bills....... British Steel seeks £100m government loan

Now, this one really boils my blood - the EU have a system whereby companies get a certain amount of carbon credits, and they can use them to 'pay' for their emissions the prior year or if they have any going spare they can sell them on to other companies. The EU has suspended British Steel's credits until a Brexit deal is ratified, but the bill for emissions still has to be paid, hence the request for £100m.

Sorry, but that is utter tosh - so we are not included in their process to be able to get the carbon credits, but they will still take the money for the underlying bill? That is a bit like going to a petrol station, them not selling you any petrol, and then still charging you for a tankful before you leave!

And these idiots wonder why we want to leave?

I think many folk have forgotten the disillusionment felt before the referendum.
We won’t leave. We will pay even more. We will still be the place to come to. Open borders and draining cash payouts to EU will continue alas:noidea:
