First garden, need advice...

    @ricky101 Its a west facing garden. Fruit and veg is something we would be interested in, but it'll be a little way into the future.

    @Sheal I've been doing everything by hand so far, if we decide to go for a ground level terrace as you have suggested i'll definitely be hiring a digger :) My only thoughts with having 1 terrace, is that the difference in height between the 2 will be quite severe i think.

    Im going to be back out in the garden this afternoon, i have a bit more digging and clearing to do. After which i'll start drawing up some sketches with all the ideas you guys have provided thus far...

      I was thinking perhaps you may plant up the top level so access as such wouldn't be necessary.

      I'll look forward to seeing your sketches. :) I've levelled a garden of my own in the past but not as drastically as yours. While work is ongoing ideas generally come to mind as you make progress.

      Hit a bit of a brick wall this weekend, literally... the foundations for the retaining wall go significantly deeper than i had expected. After 5 hours digging i threw in the towel.

      Time to hire a digger!!
