@shiney I will try get him along too - totally depends if he is jetting away with work or not. I'll let you know about the curry closer to the time but I do love a nice curry so will likely be a thumbs up.

We're just potting up loads of Zebra grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Zebrinus') - always very popular but a 'B' to dig up and split. I had to split it with a saw!

Also potting up a load of Crocosmia.

              Not sure what next.

Well Shiney, you certainly get invoved. Well done. Since joining GC I feel I have made many friends. I would so much like to meet them face to face. Without burdening you all with my problems, I realise forward planning is a no-go for me. I will however try. Regarding purchses, cash, cheque or card. In the event of me not making it. Might a donation to the cause be acceptable?

Whatever. I wish all those attending and Mr & Mrs S all the very best.

Saturday is the planned day for us - we are likely to be fairly early, as my energy reserves still disappear later in the day, and it is a couple of hours drive to get home.

@Fat Controller arriving early is always best. Particularly as you will be able to park closer to us. If you feel you need a rest you can always use my armchair that virtually turns into a bed. :dbgrtmb:

Parking may, or may not, be a problem this year. The gas board are renewing the gas main and have to close one side of the road where they are working. They tend to set the traffic lights 400yds apart and block off all the space between the lights. They don't know whether they will have got past us by the end of May!

Their head office are as useful as a chocolate teapot! They told me the area they have on their paperwork for their licences for the lights. They give the name of the houses outside of which the lights have a licence. Sounds simple. Unfortunately they may have a little difficulty as one of the named houses burnt down 420 years ago and was never replaced! I think they have used an old map :heehee:

So I went and had a chat with the foreman of the works. He said that they would endeavour to get past us by then. He hoped they would as they get a bonus for finishing early. If they don't get past then he said he would only fence off the holes that they dig (they dig them a long way apart and run the new main through the old one) and it would allow cars to park in between. Currently they fence off the whole section.
