Flowers on our "Lollypop acer" in our small front garden

Our trio of acers, I'm trying to get to grow high enough to hide the tub in which our sambucus lives.

    P1020668.JPG

The plan is to make the sambucus interchangeable with our Stella cherry on the small patio. If it had more blossom on it I'd have moved the cherry here earlier in the year. Maybe next year.

I gave this acer palmatum a "haircut." (trimmed the skirt with shears).

Just a couple of corners that despite everything looked pretty today.. This has grown out so far this year the path is a bit narrow but to me it looks so pretty.

It's going to have some major supports put in tomorrow, Perki :) There were strong ones to cater for the westerlies but it got pushed over by a savage easterly wind :noidea: Go for it! The French keep their Wisterias practically bonsai'd, so they take up very little space...

I've often thought about growing a standard Wisteria, I've already got prolific which is just about to flower unless the frost gets it again. Saw a bonsai wisteria the other day at a show starting to flower very nice.

Are you handy with a drill and screwdriver, Perki? OH made me a useful 'umbrella' support from flat section metal strips fixed to a metal pole, then Hammerited. (This was for a standard Wisteria in the UK). I think you can also buy these commercially. Very useful, as you avoid the temptation to have too many branches!

Hi @noisette47 it's a tall " lily flowered " Tulip. I can't tell you yet as I'm at home but I'm going to my mom's later so I'll look it up then.
