Don't know what type of virus it was but more than likely a gastric one I expect for it to whip round the schools so quickly. Kids and hand washing aren't exactly known to go together!

 

Hi upsydaisy, yes I feel a lot better thanks, I visited my parents today now I’m germ free, hope your throat gets better soon.

I understand what you mean about the illness that are going around, as I work in the Chemist I’ve just started to notice the last few years there’s more and more unusual illness, maybe it’s because we are getting a lot of new people in the country, bringing new diseases, just guessing, we’ve had a few people with Tamiflu since November, a lot of scabies, lupus and measles .

I can see why they want to deep clean schools, they definitely need to do it with hospitals, hospital staff used to have to change into uniforms when in work, now they travel to work in there uniforms

 

Hi @Flumpy So glad to hear that you're over the worst of it now, have you been left with a cough?....they tend to hang on a bit.

Yes I can never understand that about hospital uniforms, especially when you meet off duty staff doing their shopping and leaning over the salad bar!!!

One of my families that I work with have a mum who is a theatre nurse and in all the years I've worked with them I have never seen her come home in any hospital stuff, she always heads for the shower too before catching up with her children or me. A five minute hot shower and she is happy to face the outside world!!....wish more would be the same. I had many hospital workers families over the years and most just turn up in their uniforms...OK I can understand that surgical ones need to be treated differently though.

 

Yes still coughing up rubbish (sorry for the detail) but feel a lot stronger in myself

My mum used to work in hospital in the 1970’s and she said everyone had to change when they got there, glad your friend has common sense

Totally agree @shiney that hygiene in the salon is vital. Everything is washed and sterilized after each use

Not that reassured that staff should wear their uniforms to work either....just think of the contamination they could inflict on a patient / bring on to ward
