Elaeagnus renovation

    Can I renovate this straggly Elaeagnus? it's very out of shape, so wonder if I could cut it right down and start it again? Any advice welcome. Thanks. P1040724 (2).JPG

    Not too sure but I think you can prune back quite hard in winter to about 2ft. But someone more ' in the know' might know better. :):blue thumb:

          Yes you can MAJ.....however, these shrubs revert quite freely esp after hard pruning. If you remove all green shoots from the start.....restart....it should still carry the variegation.
          I have pruned these quite hard...too near a pathway etc.....but I would be more inclined to cut mid way and to do so to variegated shoots :)
