    Hi,

Read in gardening mag about some wonder Liquid Seaweed fertilizer than a well know person uses, and when looking it up was shocked at the £19-ish price tag for a small bottle.

Have been using Doffs Liquid Seaweed which is £2.99 from our local Range store.

Makes me wonder what differences there may or may not be between such products.

The Doff seems to be giving good results for me as a general feed this time of year.

Wonder what others use , have experienced with Liquid Seaweed..?

    “Wonder” seaweed Ricky!
No difference I think .....just read the concentration level
There are no “wonder” products ....lawn feed, plant food or magic sprays.
Doff make good products and they are cheap.:)
Used to gather masses of raw seaweed for the garden and it was the very best stuff for most everything I grew...ericaceous apart:)
Also used to dilute it as a liquid feed...excellent.
Most seaweed products are good tonic feeds I think but shop around :)

I'm trying doff seaweed this year.
Apparently you have to add soluable feed as I guess it's not a feed as such.

:catapult:It’s a tonic more than a feed ......it does feed but minimally. I think we overfeed our plants anyway hence lots of lush growth and abundance of slugs and other pests. :)

I only really feed containers, I rarely feed established plants in the garden.
I cant actually see the point, most have their roots way down out the reach of any feed.

I do think you need to feed containers that are often overcrowded during the summer months.

I usually add some FBB when planting veg and that is about it.

Yes, something to use in addition to fertilizer to boost that big veg grown for competition, or to assist ailing plants, etc. And the difference is notable when you get those few extra pounds and win the shield yet again at your local show, but I don't bother wasting my money using it on general stuff.

I use fertilizer in all of my gardens. Most of mine are raised beds where I grow annuals/vegetables. Since I have low flow irrigation for all of the raised areas and hanging pots, I cheated and incorporated a fertilizer injector to the system and load it with nutrients about every two weeks. Lazy Lori...

Anyway, now I've read this, I'm going to look for liquid seaweed feed. I need something to give me an edge. I got my oldest son to start gardening two years and ago and it turns out in this short time, he's got a greener thumb than I... proud, but still

yes, I remember that saying.. Know thy limitations...
