I noticed that some plants grow very quickly recently and their leaves start to steal suns from my hedge. I concern it may eventually kill the hedge.

    • IMG-6273 is my hedge. What hedge is it? I am considering plant a few more to improve privacy.
    • IMG-6277 AND IMG-6278 are two plants that I suspect that are harmful for the hedge (IMG-6373). What are those two plants? Should I leave them there or get rid of them?
    • If 6277 and 6278 are fine to leave, how likely will they eventually kill 6273?
Thank you in advance for all suggestions.

    Berberis, bramble and field maple
I'd get rid of the bramble, the other two are good hedge plants and probably what was planted originally.

Make sure that you trim/shape the field maple regularly otherwise it will become a large tree.

Thanks for the reply. Should I remove even the root of bramble? Or just cut the outgrown part?

Thanks for the reply. The annoying thing is that some of field maple grows horizontally rather than vertically probably due to other hedges block it’s way.

        Agree with all Pete's id.
Berberis sp, bramble and Acer campestre...common name field maple.

acer campestre leaf - Google Search:

Yes try to remove root from bramble.

All hedges need to be trimmed regularly to keep to shape...otherwise you end up with huge trees and a hedge 20ft wide!
