WHATS LOOKING GOOD IN JUNE 2019

Firstly may I say just loving everyones beautiful plants and gardens...

 

I like the colour contrast between the camelia, clematis and rhodo.

Nothing in nature doesn't "go" together.

 

Tell the snobby garden designers that,

 

@zenj gorgeous nomocharis! I tried to grow them from seed but slugs got them before flowering.
@shiney please can you tell me which hosta variety is that one last but one with yellow in centre - it's lovely.

 

One that I've failed with frequently!

Just tell her to butt out! Say that you're collecting the seed for cooking with. A few might drop but that's not your fault.

Thanks @shiney - there are so many hostas now that it's hard to decide - but one that is grown by a gardener like you has to be on the list!

A big, blousey deutzia

One of my self-sown foxgloves - nearly as tall as me! Lupins doing well behind, along with self-sown campanula persicifolia and the true Rosea “Winchester cathedral” at the base. (A shy rosea Charles de Mills peeping round from behind the stem).

An alba form of the campanula persicifolia- I didn’t realise I had so many white flowers!!

Love the Philadelphus and the Deutzia Sian. Do you know which variety The Philly is please? I've been trying to get hold of the larger of the two Minnesota 'Snowflake' for months, but the only two nurseries I've found that have it want an arm and a leg in price or postage and I refuse to pay it.

 

I have no idea, I’m afraid, @Sheal. It was on the bargain shelf of a hyper market here, and was just marked as “philadelphus” I think. The flowers are really big, over an inch deep...
