So when do you feed the dogs and play with the chickens?

Planted some more pot marigolds, snapdragons and 2 lupins in another border. Dug up a hardy fuchsia and potted it up, I'll decide what to do with it later.

The sun is beaming through my window, encouraging me to make the final assault upon the dratted field grass that's infested my garden since the Inglings hacked their way through here.
It's due to start raining by lunchtime but that's enough time to dig it and bag it, ready for the tip.
With a mug full of Yorkshire tea, fresh toast and a full tin of tobacco; nothing can stop me now - Banzai!

You are indeed a gentleman of fine taste sir! A damned fine substitute is Punjana which is a blend from Thompsons - absolutely lovely!

This morning I am hoping to pick up some manure from a local stable. There is a thunderstorm on it's way. With a bit of luck it will wait until tonight. We are desperate for the rain but I still want to be able to spend the weekend working in the garden.

Ashamed to admit I had to ask for an ID because I thought one might make a pretty addition to the display!!!!:oopss:

I’ve had a potter around the veg bed, winding in the mangetout peas, etc. Then gone for a walk in the forest (“Izzy!!!” - see thread in Pets Corner!), and a purchase of petrol. Lawnmower suitably refreshed, I was able to finish cutting the grass...

...now for a cuppa next to the pond, as a reward. Will take my mobile with me, after the excitement of yesterday!!

As rain was forecast for around 1.00pm, I went out around 10.00am and mowed the lawn.
It's nearly recovered from my scarifying a week or so ago,

For once the forecast was right it rained at 1.00pm.

If I'd gone to golf as normal on a Friday, I'd have got rained on when we were on the 15th or 16th, so all the wet gear would have had to come out of my bag. I can do without that.

Our cheap garden chairs arrived this morning in two cartons, just a question of bolting them together. I hate stuff where you have to use an Allen key, when you can't get a full turn on it. Fortunately I've an Allen key bit that fits my leccy drill, so it wasn't a problem.

I'm quite pleased with them at just over thirty quid each. They are well made, very sturdy and comfortable.

Took a few plants to a gentleman this afternoon so made some room in the GH now for the rest of the plants in the house to go in. No play outside I got drenched this dinner time got changed and drenched again half an hour ago :gaah:. The flowers on Papaver Beauty of livermore aren't going to last long with this downpour .

Had a day out at Chatsworth today and bought a few new bits. :)

Was a lovely day...between 9:30 and 11:30, then we got absolutely soaked through to the skin.
