Is your S.s green or purple-leaved, Longk? Whichever it isn't, if you'd like some of either to go with the Jasmine sambac, I'll get them off to you next week :)

Our sambucus is at its best now, it's been in this location for two years after spending its former life on the patio, where it didn't produce as many flowers. It obviously wants to remain in "pride of place" where it gets full sun.

                P1020983.JPG

What's good about it, is that it's "see through," it doesn't hide the rest of the garden if you're standing at the French windows.

                P1020982.JPG

This is our last rhodo to flower., well over 6ft tall.
It's all downhill from now as far as go big shows of colour in this garden. I've already dead-headed most of the other rhodos.

                P1020984.JPG

                Our roses continue to please.

                P1020986.JPG

We've four of these which have small blooms.

@Verdun which type of lavender do you have please?
I've only had success with lavender in pots here on our heavy clay. I see other gardens in our area with lavender hedges though so it can be done, wondering which type would be best, and if adding grit for drainage would be helpful.

It's not sweatin' here, trust me! I'd be outside inhaling the scent of the Brugs if it was! You're a dark horse....I'd no idea you had a H. flavum :love30::biggrin:

And also @Verdun where am I going so wrong with ours? How come we always end up with a mad and unruly looking bush each year!!:yikes:
As I've already said I've attempted a 'tidy up' but I am disliking the way it looks even before it's reached full bloom. When looking neat and tidy ( like yours) Lavender is one of my favourite plants......sadly not ours though.

Please talk me through you care plan for it.
                          Thank you:bigthumb:
