    Hi,

After being soaked by Blackie and drying my clothes I headed back up the mountain in brilliant sunshine; as I worked bagging debris on the lane a lady walking her dog spoke to me enquiring if I knew who owned the car; I explained no but I informed the police yesterday; she replied the car has been there days and that she "WAS GOING TO PHONE THE POLICE" so why didn't she? The garden adjoining ours had a four bedroomed detached house built upon it years ago by previous next door neighbours; when it was completed a young couple moved in; shortly after they found their car on bricks with all wheels missing and a large garden stone through its windscreen. I just did the right thing not going to phone the police I did phone the police. Both the lady and I though are surprised there isn't a POLICE AWARE notice on the car?

    Kind regards, Colin.

Set light to it and call the fire brigade - you will soon find out who owns it then..... :heehee:

For anyone reading this who has had a sense of humour bypass, I am joking, and I do not advocate setting cars on fire, ever.

        Hi,

With my bad luck Fat Controller the police would arrive in hoards lit up like the illuminations with blue lights flashing and sirens blaring as soon as I struck the match. It's MOT expires in a few days and given the age of the car it's possible the owner has little money which I can understand having been there myself; good luck to the owner because I don't want to add to any problems. I did however try to help the lady walking her dog; I explained I was creating a more comfortable dog toilet.

        Kind regards, Colin,

          Hi,

An update. The police have just visited us to thank us for contacting them about the car parked on the lane; the officer said they rely on public information; police tend to get unfavourable comments but we'll help them if possible.

The car disappeared on Friday so I've at last completed cutting the hedge back; it's been a big job and after another full morning I knocked off just as the rain started.

          Kind regards, Colin.

Picture just taken from the lane; what a job it is keeping on top of this hedge.

We don't have laurel bushes we have full blown laurel trees; these used to be 30' tall until I attacked them with a petrol chainsaw; they are still tall from our garden but the lane is higher so they are not as tall from the lane; the hedge affords us privacy.

I've taken car loads of hedge debris to the tip and shredded lots too; here I'm dragging a load down to the shredder using an old bed sheet; I've got lots of full bags ready again for the tip also another big pile to shred but it's now raining again; drat this dire weather.

Colin, at least the police got back to you and you managed to finish cutting the hedge.

              Hi,

Thanks Logan; yes it all turned out well in the end. I must confess I did wonder if I'd done the right thing contacting the police and for a few days later seeing the car still on the lane without a police aware notice on it but the officer visiting us today has fully restored my faith in the police; I'll always do the right thing anyway it's just the way I am and I'm not scared of standing up to be counted; I can sleep at night.

I'm delighted to have finished cutting the hedge but now I'm unable to do any shredding because of the rain; Blackie sure loves me; his sister Gale was cold this morning putting a strong breeze up the valley as usual; in the sun on the lane shielded from Gale it was pleasant but working in the garden in the breeze it felt really cold; it seldom changes here.

Blackie's done me a favour because I can potter around in the workshop for a couple of hours getting my hands dirty on a mower restoration. Whoopee.

Did you get a soaking today walking your babies Logan?

              Kind regards, Colin.

                Hi,

Thanks Logan; you're most welcome to Blackies sister Gale; I just wish you'd take Blackie too because he's just given me yet another good soaking; the rain is lashing down; I started shredding at 6 o'clock but have had to quit due to torrential rain and it's the usual miserable black hole. BAHHHHHHHHHH.

                Kind regards, Colin.

                    Hi,

Please take Blackie and adopt him Logan; I can't control him and he's worn out his welcome with us; I hope you have better luck with him; you can also have his sister Gale too but she's rather wild. :yahoo:

                    Kind regards, Colin.

Hi Colin, I've had Blackie here and his sister gale, but now they're going for a while.
Got wet when walking the boys but not as bad as Friday.
Have to do extra walks because hubby's working. The school exams are going on and he does Invigulation helping get everything ready and make sure that they behave.

                        Hi,

What's this Logan letting Blackie & Gale go; really you could have kept them forever with my very best compliments.

Blackies home again and doing his thing; I went up the mountain a couple of hours ago and Gale was cold and unfriendly; I think I'm in a time warp and it's actually January.

                        Kind regards, Colin.

Colin I haven't let Blackie and gale go they're still here, it's pouring down again. Just finished the walks, changed my wet clothes again. Hubby blames me for saying that the ground wasn't wet enough for planting out, now it won't stop.

Yes it's January here it's so cold, it might snow.
