Thank you! I won't let it stop me. Today was "everything day" for collection so I had to haul out the brown (leaf, garden waste) bag, the rubbish, the blue recycle bins for glass paper and plastics anfd the green food waste bin. So already working on keeping moving. :)

The rink is closed to the public the next two weeks and by then I'll be fully recovered :)

As a cute fyi, I had bought a key fob at Kew which is the shape of a British phone/call box and which I had in my back pocket... one of the black spots is exactly that shape:heehee:

Got the pump moved already so today's ladder and drill work is done. Just need to put together the fittings to difuse the water to the various water vessels :)

Lovely since lunch time so cut lawns and planted out a group of eryngiums. Will grab a cider and contemplate back garden.:)
Incidentally, watched a recording of Carol Kleines Best British Gardens last night. John Massey’s was featured and what a magnificent garden it is. Not usually a fan of Carol’s but in this series she is in her element :)

Managed to cut the hedges in between downpours, sooooo glad that's out of the way, dropped the pot in it's new holder not going to be able to spray it for a while yet, and spent a bit of time on the bracket for the new sockets in the greenhouse.

I wasn't going to anything else today, but I got bored watching the tennis or football on TV, so I cut the lawn and dead-headed the big rhodo. The latter took an hour there's so many blooms. I like to get all the already fallen blooms off the leaves as they look unsightly can't do the plant any good. I also strung some wire round it to stop it spreading too much. I'll take it off in the Spring.

I also layered a couple of low branches of the rhodo to the left of it.

              P1030016.JPG

The weight of the blooms makes it overhang the lawn quite a bit and I get a bit of moss on the edge of the lawn under it.

Tomorrow if she feels up to it, I'm going to take my wife to a local garden centre, for a coffee and "just a look round." It usually means, some plant or other, "follows us home."

I know exactly how much we spend on our garden each year, I won't say as many wouldn't believe it. But we can't go on holiday as we never know if my wife will be up to it on the day we need to travel, so we spend the money on the garden.

I loved watching Great British Gardens and thought that John Massey's garden was superb and his enthusiasm for his plants matched Carols which is saying something. I think she is a brilliant presenter and always appears to be enjoying herself and the plants. She is not pretentious like some of the designers who appear on our telly boxes.

Thank you @Upsydaisy. I'll just keep working through it - one bonus - since it is swollen and a little puffy, that hand looks a lot younger than the other :)

Just went around with my broad leaf killer and spot sprayed the weeds coming up in the expansion cracks on my concrete driveway. Don't want them getting out of hand!

Back to winter again up here with strong winds, some :rain: and quite cold. Winter fleece and hat needed for the beach :yikes:. This afternoon was dry so cut small area of grass in side garden, weeded the bed under the cherry tree, strimmed a small patch of grass down around septic tank lid, planted up a pot of mint, swept and weeded a section of pathway, weeded a small area of driveway out front ( tons of weeds on driveway :hate-shocked: ) and trimmed part of cherry tree by the conservatory - so the window cleaner can actually clean the windows next week :heehee:. :rain: again tonight.

It's amazing what you find when you finally get around to weeding.

If I'm not mistaken, these are the spiraxis bulbs I planted a year or 2 ago. Nothing happened last year. It just shows that patience pays off.

A few of us went to the beach earlier with the dogs. Sea was out leaving a big open sandy beach. Pretty warm too.....lovely and sunny now  Silly me, I forgot my mankini so a dip in the sea was denied me :rasp:
Several dahlias in flower here esp a few in containers 2 of which were cadged by my nephew’s partner :noidea:
A few un named agastaches are starting to flower now so I should be able to ID them and then plant them out :)

Started to empty the pots for summer planting and ready the daffs etc for storage, I've had to do it while its raining again , it seems like everyday a rain day.
